PACTA announces two new partnerships

PACTA is delighted to announce two new strategic partnerships: with the World Congress of Muslim Philanthropists (WCMP) and with the Glencree Centre for Peace and Reconciliation (Glencree).

As part of its cooperation with the WCMP, PACTA has been invited to act as a co-host and a partner of the annual Global Donors Forum in Kuala Lumpur on April 11-13th, 2012.

A new role for the Chairman of the Advisory Board

Following the appointment of Dr. Kimmo Kiljunen as Finland's Foreign Minister’s new Special Representative for peace mediation tasks the PACTA board has confirmed his resignation as the chairman of PACTA's Advisory Board based on principles of good governance and the need for impartiality in his new role. PACTA is already engaged in finding a new Chairman for the Advisory Board.

PACTA Finland welcomes new Advisory Board member

PACTA is delighted to welcome General Gustav Hägglund onto its Advisory Board. General Hägglund is the highly respected former Finnish Chief of Defence (1994-2001) and was also previously Chairman of the European Union Military Committee (2001 – 2004). He has extensive experience of peacekeeping missions and of working on peace and security issues.

Financial year 2010 and financial statements

The financial year 2010 has ended and PACTA's financial statements for 2010 have been completed. The financial statements have been signed by the Board and the auditors (PriceWaterhouseCoopers) have approved the financial statements. The Director of PACTA, Juha Christensen, summarizes the year in the Management Letter of PACTA in the following way: "PACTA's year was full of activities. ICO (International Charity Organization) status

Pacta Asia, the operating unit of PACTA, received the status of International Charity Organization (ICO) on 23 August 2010 in Singapore. The ICO status enables PACTA to work as a non-profit making NGO in Singapore and creates the basis for operations in the area.
