Asian Peace and Reconciliation Council

The APRC’s goal is to help resolve conflicts through silent diplomacy, lobbying, facilitating and mediating behind the scenes on the Asian continent. The APRC gathers together a network of experienced leaders from in- and outside Asia. The APRC operates according to the principle of non-intervention and so engages only with the consent of conflict parties.

PACTA’s broader work in the region reflects our conviction that the lessons learned from succesful peace processes can provide both example and inspiration to other societies experiencing turbulence and strife. Although the particular political solution agreed for one context will not necessarily be appropriate for another, PACTA believes that the experiences of individuals who have made the long and challenging journey from conflict to peace can offer some insight and stimulus to those searching for peace in their own countries.
