Komisi Nasional Hak Asasi Manusia Republik Indonesia (Komnas HAM) is an independent agency established by the Government of Indonesia whose mandate is to: (I) Develop conditions conducive to the promotion, recognition, protection, and enforcement of human rights in accordance with Pancasila, the 1945 Constitution, the United Nations Charter, and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights; and (II) Improve the protection and upholding of human rights in the interest of the personal development of the Indonesian people as a whole and their ability to fully participate in life as members of the Republic of Indonesia.  For more information, please see www.komnasham.go.id
